Joan Junkin brings 25 years as a wound clinician and educator, including 10 years building the outpatient and inpatient wound program in a 500-bed hospital. As owner of The Healing Touch, Inc., Joan provides wound care consulting services to healthcare organizations. Through immersion in the evolving art and science related to this specialty, she has witnessed incredible results.

Joan enjoys sharing her expertise with experienced healthcare professionals; as such she has traveled to all 50 states and four provinces in Canada to present wound education, she has spoken at numerous national and regional WOCN® and SAWC wound conferences and is on the speakers’ bureau for the Advanced Wound Care Society. Joan's seminars are a combination of practical knowledge gleaned from her extensive experiences and are always backed up by the latest research and guidelines.

Always committed to wound care excellence, she has served as President of the Nebraska Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurses Society and chaired the WOCN® national committee to accredit WOCN® education programs. Additionally, Joan has authored articles in several peer reviewed journals and has authored chapters in Wound Care Made Incredibly Easy.
