Pam Collins has more than 30 years of extensive nursing experience which includes work as a staff/charge nurse for medical-surgical and pediatric units, nurse manager/nursing administration, nursing faculty and Education/Medical/Legal Consultant. Pam currently works as an Independent Education and Medical-Legal Consultant, and maintains her skills by working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Medical-Surgical Nursing in Charlotte, North Carolina. She maintains dual certification in medical-surgical nursing through the Academy for Medical Surgical Nurses and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Pam also consults with Schools of Nursing for the purpose of enhancing NCLEX success rates with an emphasis on medical-surgical nursing. She additionally has extensive experience with the Legal aspects of Nursing Practice/documentation to include providing litigation support in medical malpractice.

Pam speaks nationally on clinical and legal topics for the healthcare professional with a passion that is evident through her energy, presentation style and ability to engage the audience. She was previously awarded the Outstanding Educator of the Year Award by the South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium.

Cyndi Zarbano is an intensive care nurse with over 20 years of nursing experience who is currently practicing in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. She is a nationally-recognized seminar speaker who has opened multiple national symposiums and speaks on several topics for PESI, as well as a variety of other companies in the US and Canada. In addition to her speaking engagements, Cyndi is a published author with a variety of books including Clinical Nursing Assessment Skills Pocket Guide and the Med-Surg Pocket Guide. Along with her MS and BSN in nursing, she has 3 other undergraduate degrees and multiple nursing certifications. She served as a US Naval Officer for 10 years, leaving service as an LCDR (Lieutenant Commander) in 2001. Prior to nursing, she worked as a counselor with the mentally ill and dangerous in a facility in southern Minnesota. She returned to that facility as a Lead Psychiatric Nurse for two years after leaving the military. Additionally, Cyndi has a legal nurse consulting business and continues to serve as a testifying expert in medical related cases. Cyndi's teaching style is dynamic and high energy while informal and easy to understand. You will leave her program with a renewed commitment to achieving nursing excellence in critical care.

MIKEL A. ROTHENBERG, MD

Mikel A. Rothenberg, MD (deceased) was a board-certified internal medicine specialist with a special interest in critical care and emergency medicine. Dr. Rothenberg wrote several medical and legal books, numerous journal articles, and an ACLS computer software program. He served as the executive editor of ACLS Alert, and wrote an advanced cardiac life support online column. A strong advocate of personal growth and self-esteem building, Dr. Rothenberg spoke internationally, presenting courses on “plain English” medical topics.

SEAN G. SMITH, RN, BSN, NREMT-P, C-NPT, CCRN, CMC, CEN, CFRN, FP-C, CPEN

Sean G. Smith has experience in both emergency care and critical care. He has written neo-natal/pediatric pharmacology CE exams for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, as well as writing for Mosby clinical updates. He has practiced and taught critical/emergency care and pre-hospital emergency medical services for over 20 years. Career highlights include research in molecular endocrinology, serving in the US Navy, a wide variety of ICUs, flight nursing, and medical missions, as well as offering medical support to NASA. Sean lectures at the national level and has extensive text review/exam writing/contributing author credits. He holds multiple advanced specialty certifications in critical care, emergency, and flight nursing, as well as cardiac medicine, and neonatal/pediatric critical care transport.
