ANGELA BAILEY, M.ED.

Angela Bailey, M.Ed., is a Social and Emotional Learning Specialist for the Austin Independent School District. In this role, Angela has supported and coached elementary campuses to implement social and emotional learning for students, educators and caregivers. She has presented at campus, district and national levels on building positive and effective environments, explicitly and implicitly teaching SEL skills, mindfulness, adult SEL growth, data, goal setting and other related topics. She has also developed and facilitated learning opportunities for parents and caregivers. She presented at SXSWedu in 2018 and will be presenting again at this national conference in 2019. Before the SEL Specialist role, she was a Special Education teacher who focused on teaching social communication skills to students with Autism, emotional needs and learning disabilities. In 2016, she received her Master's degree in Educational Administration and is a certified school principal. She is passionate about supporting the social and emotional growth in students and adults!
