ALICE LIU MCCOY, JD

Alice Liu McCoy, JD, is an attorney at Disability Rights New Mexico (DRNM) who represents New Mexicans with disabilities in systemic impact litigation and individual cases, and has developed extensive experience in New Mexico’s guardianship system.  Her practice includes a variety of guardianship matters, such as appointments of guardians, disputes between protected persons and their guardians, and modification or termination of guardianships, as well as drafting amicus briefs on behalf of guardianship appellants.  Alice serves on the New Mexico Supreme Court Ad Hoc Rules Committee that develops court rules and forms for guardianship and conservatorship proceedings and on the Board of the New Mexico Guardianship Association (NMGA).  Additionally, Alice actively engages in policy advocacy and legal education through her work with NMGA committees and the Adult Protective Proceedings Task Force.
