JAMES PARKER GRIFFIN, JR, PH.D., LPC, CAMS II

James Parker Griffin Jr., Ph.D., LPC, CAMS-II, is a counselor and certified anger management specialist in the Atlanta, GA area specializing in treating survivors of physical and emotional abuse, and their abusers – many of whom have personality disorder behaviors. In the course of his over 30 year mental health career, Dr. Griffin has worked with personality disordered clients using primarily cognitive behavioral-based approaches in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition, James’ personal experience with friends and family who exhibit personality disorder behaviors gives him a unique insight into these disorders that goes beyond his academic training. 

 

Dr. Griffin is an Atlanta community leader in violence prevention and the founder of the Metropolitan Atlanta Violence Prevention Partnership – a collaboration of 300 government, academic, community and faith-based organizations. He served as a community liaison with the Emory Center for Injury Control, a member of the Citizens’ Crime Prevention Advisory Board, and is an ongoing member of the Annie Casey Foundation Trauma Reduction and Community Safety Committee in Atlanta.
