SUSAN DEA KANE-RONNING, PHD

Susan Kane-Ronning, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who has served as an educator, therapist, and psychologist to children, adults and families for 30 years. As a former special education teacher, Dr. Kane-Ronning understands firsthand the challenges in managing challenging and disruptive behaviors. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon over 20 years ago, with a specialization in child behavior disorders and family therapy. For the past 20 years, Dr. Kane-Ronning has held a private practice as a child psychologist and serves as a consultant to school districts and agencies. She evaluates and treats children, adults, and families. She also provides forensic evaluation and testimony to the court system.

She has taught extensively as well, serving as an adjunct faculty member for several colleges. A dynamic speaker, Dr. Kane-Ronning has given numerous lectures over the years, including such topics as: “Broken childhood and shattered dreams”; “The importance of self-care”, and “Interventions with adolescents with learning and behavior problems”. She is the author of a moving memoir, Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: I Am My Mother After All.
