DR. CHAD M. THOMPSON, PT, DPT, OCS, CEAS

Dr. Chad M. Thompson is currently the director for the Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT), Georgetown, Kentucky location. This site is the sports medicine provider for Georgetown College. Chad has over 27 years of experience working with shoulder rehabilitation in both acute and outpatient phases. Chad considers this one of his favorite diagnoses to treat. He has devoted over 300 hours in continuing education learning to develop a throwing program from the likes of Kevin Wilk and James Andrews. Chad's expertise has been sought to present nationally on total and reverse total joint shoulder procedures.

He has hosted throwing clinics for young ball players and overhead athletes, has consulted with many industries for ergonomic modifications to prevent shoulder/ upper extremity injuries and has worked with large companies like Kroger, RJ Coreman, Jim Beam and Legget and Platte on "train the trainer" and "stretch break" programs. Chad has provided on-site assessment training for Toyota medical staff for differential diagnosis of the industrial shoulder. He has trained with Josh Cleland to hone differential skills for upper extremity diagnosis and treatment. Chad has devoted his career to providing patients with impairment-based exercise programs for the prevention of disability and loss of functional independence. In addition, Chad is a clinical instructor for the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and assists in supervising the Samaritan Free Clinic. This clinic allows students to assess and treat underserved patients under the supervision of a PT.
